ACL Reconstruction & LET
ACL reconstruction is considered the gold standard surgical treatment for ACL ruptures, particularly in patients experiencing knee instability following injury.
ACL reconstruction is typically recommended for patients with symptomatic knee instability, combined ligament or meniscal injuries, and younger individuals aiming to return to pivoting or high demand sports.
The procedure involves using a graft to recreate the function of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which stabilises the knee by connecting the femur to the tibia. During surgery, precise tunnels are created within the bones, allowing the graft to be positioned in a way that restores normal knee biomechanics. The reconstructed ligament is then secured using specialised implants.
